Local Projects
We will initiate and fund three exemplary projects. Our aim is to capture the stories of those people who lived through significant and often traumatic events of the last half century, whilst at the same time further developing skills within communities and groups in the border area. Central to the project approach is the sense that peacemaking is organic, emanating from and being sustained by individuals, groups and communities. These projects will focus on those who pursued 'ordinary' lives such as housewives, farmers, factory workers, teachers, carers, as well as those who were publicly involved in political, vocational or community activities.
Each project will engage at least 25 individuals and we have funding to cover; procurement of necessary equipment; transcription; venue hire and cost of producing local publications/exhibitions
The criteria for selection have been clearly set out by the PEACE III programme.
