The purpose of the Advisory Committee, which meets twice a year (rotating between the three jurisdictions), is to receive and discuss reports of progress, to give counsel and advice and, individually, to be available for particular guidance and introductions from time to time. The Committee has no executive responsibility. Over the span of the three years it will convene in each of the three jurisdictions. Members come from a diverse range of public, private, community and voluntary sectors.

The first meeting of the Advisory Committee took place on 25 May 2011.

The second meeting took place on 16 November 2011 in Dublin.
